Help with free downloadable ebooks & audiobooks

According to a recent study on ebook use, only 31% of Americans are aware that libraries offer downloadable ebook and audiobook loans.

Does the Sanbornton Public Library offer this service? Why, yes, we do!

To see what types of materials are available, head over to the NH Overdrive site at http://nh.lib.overdrive.com/.

One word of caution: These titles, some 12,000 in all, are shared by over 100 libraries throughout the state. So, even though multiple licenses are purchased for popular titles, it’s proven impossible to keep up with demand and those titles may have long waiting lists.

Note, too, that the interface has recently been upgraded and a few kinks are still being worked out.

If you need assistance accessing your ebook or audiobook on your Kindle, Nook, iPad, smartphone, computer, MP3 player, or other compatible device:

1. Check the online help.

2. Refer to the NH Downloadables blog where the State Library’s Technology Resources Librarian has compiled a large number of useful cheatsheets and troubleshooting guides.

3. Contact us at the library and we’ll do our best to sort out your problem! We’re available at 286-8288 or SPL@metrocast.net.
