It’s a new year, and with it, a new month. As the holiday season ends, we have sadly had to take down our December Holidays book display in the children’s room. However, we have replaced it with a new January display that features an eclectic mix of fiction and nonfiction to delight you.
There are some major holidays in January – New Year’s Day and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. January also has less prolific events that we still think are worth celebrating, like Winnie the Pooh creator A. A. Milne’s birthday on January 18th. The entire month is also noteworthy for being National Braille Literacy Month, Hot Tea Month and National Soup Month.
Celebrating these aspects of January, we are showcasing biographies of historical figures like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Helen Keller and Louis Braille. There are also fiction books celebrating Winnie the Pooh and A. A. Milne. And, if you’re in the mood to do some cooking while inside on a snowy day, try one of our scrumptious soup or tea party books! Bon appetite!
