Ebooks, e-readers, what does it all mean? With the rise of digital media, books are no longer limited to paper. Many are available free online, but they are usually older, out-of-copyright titles. Did you know you can check out ebooks at the library? Visit Overdrive to download ebooks for reading on a personal computer, e-reader, or even a smart phone.

Once you have the ebook downloaded, follow the instructions to add it to your device.

Using Overdrive with a Kindle


In your Amazon account, go to “Manage Your Kindle,” then to “Kindle Content.” You will see a list, including “Public Library Books on your Kindle.” Select this. As you read the “Getting Started” steps, the answers are provided below to help you figure it out.

1. Sanbornton Public Library does use Overdrive to make ebooks available to our patrons.
2. You can visit https://sanbornton.biblionix.com/ to browse.
3. You will be able to check out ebooks with your library information and card number, which is located below the bar code on the back of your card.
