Borrowing, Renewing, and Requesting

Here is a link to our online catalog to search which items are at library.

The Sanbornton Public Library allows patrons to check out:

Books – 14 days

Movies – 7 days

Audiobooks – 14 days

Music CDs – 14 days

We do not charge overdue fines, allowing our patrons to donate on the honor system. There are jars at the circulation desk for this purpose.

Renewals are allowed if there are no holds on the item.  To renew, visit or call the library, or log in to your account in the library catalog.

To request an item that is checked out or on order, visit or call the library, or make an online request via the library catalog.  The catalog allows you to request items owned by other libraries in New Hampshire. Fines for items from other NH libraries vary according to each library’s policy. Lost items from other NH libraries must be paid to the owning library.

Not every item in the library catalog is able to be requested.  New books and DVDs (within the first 6 months) are generally not requestable if they are not also owned by the Sanbornton Public Library, according to each library’s policy.  If you try to request an item and you receive the message, “Requests are not permitted for this title. Contact the library for assistance,” you may place an Inter-Library Loan Request for that title.  Please complete the Inter-Library Loan Request Form, located below.
